At some point I started to treat users like stupid idiots, which does not
apply to every one. I encountered many people that are unaware of anything
that belongs to computers and Internet.
However this ticket might be an overreaction. I understand that users are
well aware of things especially when they care about them.
If you say (with your insight) that it's not or rarely the case that the
documentation is not "consumed" reading it from top to bottom or even
treated as "do that then that", it's nothing to fix.
The "what's that?" is also a good example on what you do to make people
notice.
Would be "not a bug" or something. (at least not open)
