Comment:

 I wouldn't actually consider this closed. I was also a bit confused at the
 extension being .gz instead of .tar.gz and wrote code to uncompress it
 only to then discover that it was in fact a .gz.

 I think we need to also apply changes to the archive script to either call
 the files .tar.gz or make them actually be just gzip compressed.

 I think the later is actually the best solution since we don't need a
 container since the files are just single files.

 When that is done also the restore.py script needs to be adjusted
 accordingly.
