 Oh, something I forgot and which might be important: so far we only see
 this issue in a cross-compilation context. Assuming bugs like #32052 are
 actually the same problem (I'll verify that one later today) we've
 essentially seen this issue for any of our platforms we cross-compile for
 (Linux32, macOS, Windows, Android) but not for doing native Linux64
 builds. Might be coincidence, though.
