 Another question which is more general (perhaps worth a separate
 discussion / hopefully this does not confuse this ticket's talk):

 How useful (of how much us(ag)e would this be) to be able to do /8
 searches (x.*.*.*)? These are the most expensive, database-wise. /16 and
 beyond, however, are much less so. What if we only supported /16 and
 upwards?
