 Hm. Could it be as simple, in that case, to change AC_TRY_COMPILE in the
 definition of TOR_CHECK_CFLAGS to AC_TRY_LINK instead?  Or to add an extra
 AC_TRY_LINK in the case that TOR_CHECK_CFLAGS decides to use -fstack-
 protector?
