Comment:

 Swapping the component (this isn't a Vidalia issue, but rather TBB).
 Hopefully this is the right one.

 Just to be clear, this ticket isn't about stem. Rather, it sounds like the
 trouble here is that changing the authentication mechanism from 'random
 password' to something else breaks TBB. This definitely wasn't previously
 the case (I've tweaked it lots of times) so this is either a new
 regression or something specific to the requester's platform.
