Comment:

 Agreed. I think some analysis is in order here, before changing the value.

 FWIW, I imagine the value is so big to avoid clients hammering the
 dirauths with the same descriptor requests (that feature was introduced
 pre-2008, so I think dirauths were still used for storing HS descs back
 then, but we should double check).
