 /etc/debian_version came up with buster/sid.
 I also tried strectch, stable and jessie.
 apt-get install tor came up with:

 The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  tor : Depends: libevent-2.0-5 (>= 2.0.10-stable) but it is not
 installable
 E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

 it also complained about libc version.
