 Fyi, SponsorF today wanted to do something that involved having this bug
 fixed. Specifically, Micah Sherr et al are working on alternate path
 selection algorithms
 (http://freehaven.net/anonbib/#DBLP:conf:pet:SherrBL09), and SponsorF
 wants to combine that in a demo with a pluggable transport. I believe
 configuring a pluggable transport is way more fun when you configure it as
 a bridge.
