 Sounds like an easy explanation -- this other site was offering you html5,
 and Firefox (including Tor Browser) these days can play html5 videos
 natively.

 The reason Youtube generally doesn't work for you is because they require
 that you opt in to the html5 "test" first, and they remember whether
 you've opted in based on a cookie that isn't very privacy-friendly.

 I suggest closing this ticket, and the original user can either mail
 support for more help:
 https://www.torproject.org/about/contact
 or bring it up again on the Tor Stackexchange beta once it goes public.
