 Such incidents with the productive system are annoying.
 But there is no need to hurry. I looked at the tomcat startup script
 {{{/etc/init/tomcat6}}} and I think it's the culprit.

 I'm not a shell hacker, but to me it looks like java 7 cannot win there,
 unless it is the only java on the system.

 Maybe the admins could hard code jdk 7 for tomcat startup?
 Or fix the script?
 Or, uninstall java 6 like with Vagrant setup?

 (I began looking at the embedded jetty so far; not really a patch yet, but
 will hardly find time this week to continue there.)
