Circuit and link cryptography are described in tor-spec.txt . dir-spec.txt describes cryptography used to authenticate Tor's directory, and rend-spec.txt describes cryptography used to authenticate hidden services (and their clients, when required by a hidden service) and secure the connection between the client and hidden service.
