I guess I should publish a roadmap of what is intended to do with the
mirrors. If anyone can provide any feedback, that would be desired as
well. :)

1) Contact current operators of defunct mirrors (I'll consider
404,401, no dns, as defunct). I've already started contacting and
paring. Currently this addresses item #3 of Andrew's wishlist... that
is if I Can't contact a mirror operator of a defunt mirror, we will
remove them from the list.

1.1) Contact operators of out of date mirrors in order to attempt to
update those mirrors to a consistent every 6 hours.

2) Improve the current mirror check script. Need something that will
give a fudge factor, so that mirrors 12-24 hours out of date, or not
being reported as "out of date". Preferable a "last updated" status.
I'm actually looking at other solutions, so anything that can be shell
scripted would be preferable. Also need to start looking into
integrity checking as well.

This is all I have thus far, status reports will be forthcoming.

Best,
Jon
