And I run 0xbaddad - EA8637EA746451C0680559FDFF34ABA54DDAE831 a guard
(though whether it stays a guard depends. It keeps falling over.)

I'm still looking at mitigation. I'd rather not add iptables filter
rules because it feels like the wrong thing to do (I might hurt
legitimate connections) and at the wrong end of the stack. I'd prefer
there to be mitigations available at the application end (Tor itself).
But realistically I know that that is difficult and the Tor developer
team are still working hard at this problem. (As an aside, I'd be very
grateful for any feedback from other relay operators who /have/ added
iptables "connlimit" rules. What is your view either way?)
I'm only sticking my head above the parapet now to note what I am
seeing.
So: My logs show Tor staying up for around 10 minutes at a time before
rebooting with the following sort of entries:

So - I get loads of CONNECTREFUSED whilst coming up (presumably because
of the attack) and then come fully back online. "netstat" then shows my
connections rising rapidly to around the 10,000-11,000 "ESTABLISHED"
mark before it all goes wrong again.
As others have noted I see multiple connections from OVH (netblock
54.36.51/24 (around 1200, when I normally only see a max of 200 or so
per /24, and a more normal dozen or so per /24). The next largest,
at around 700-800 is 144.76.175/24 (Hetzner Online). I don't recall
seeing that level of connections in the past.
If anyone wants more info, let me know.
Best
Mick
