Maybe something changed in 0.2.7.x and you should look for the successor of "arm" called "nyx" - ask "atagar" in #tor about that.

FWIW I wrote a little python script using the stem libs of "atagar" to get a Tor status : [1]
so I do not use arm any longer for simple /info commands
