Some months ago Twitter users reported the service asking them to provide a cell phone number when logging in to web interface from Tor. [1] Now, Twitter won't allow me to post, retweet, favourite, or send a DM via web interface if used from Tor (even though I submit a phone number and log in successfully): âYour account may not be allowed to perform this action. Please refresh the page and try again.â which could at least pretend to be the most polite fuck you in internet history but which probably is merely an unintentional side-effect of carelessly designed anti-spam policy. I still can use Twitter from clearnet web interface, or from a torrified mobile client (AndStatus). So it goes.
