You can check out the gedasymbols.org web site via anonymous cvs, and
have access to all the files therein.

http://www.gedasymbols.org/cvs.html

The scripts are not so useful without a web interface, because of the
need for the diagram to understand the variables, but I suppose it
could be done.  Something like:

$ 2pad -u mm -c 6mil -cl 1 -cw 0.5 -g 50% -ple 20mil -pwe 0 -so 10 -sw 5 > foo.fp

I planned it that way :-)

I never understood the need for pinseq. What practical differences
does your change make?

And if any of this leads to "symbolic names on PCB pins and pads" I'm
all for it :-)

(i.e. it would be nice to merge a djboxsym symbol with a generic
tsop-14 footprint, and get a customized footprint in pcb)

Consider adapting my dilpad generator to do through-hole with your
logic. If we merge those, and make command-line variants of all
three, I think we'd have a good set of utilities.

That leaves sot-style and discrete components.
