[Libevent-users] Suddenly changed release tarball of 1.4.10-stable

Dear Libevent maintainer(s),

I'm the maintainer of Mingw-cross-env [1] which supports you Libevent
library. I'm getting complaints of checksum error which is caused by
your recent re-upload of your current release tarball:

    libevent-1.4.14-stable.tar.gz

Why did you do that?

I compared the old and the new version, and these differ only in the
versions of the used autotools. Was the downgrade of autoconf/automake
meant to be a bugfix? If so, why didn't that bugfix get a new version
number?

You'd do me (and possibly many others) a favour if you could

    1) restore the old libevent-1.4.14-stable.tar.gz archive

    and

    2) release the new version under a new version number,
       e.g. "1.4.14a" or simply "1.4.15".

In case you don't have the old package anymore, I could send it to you.

Please consider fixing this issue, because otherwise I'd had to roll
out an emergency release of Mingw-cross-env just to update a single
checksum.

Greets
Volker
