This could be it (as well as anything else, though). Tainaron's
a Celeron 600, so there's plenty of ressources here...

Do you use rm /instead of/ shred? I understand that shred is
quite costly in terms of I/O, but I don't yet have an idea how
to relate this to a crash...
Is it the same error as you reported to the list?

As a sidenote, as I read Colin mentioning it in one of his mails:
tainaron has had MaxConnections set to 4 from its birth, so this
might play a role, too.
