Socks v4 (which if you're using Privoxy/Tor -- you're doing Socks v4a) only supports TCP -- so depending on how exactly the application handles it, it could either drop it (still anonymous) or try and route it normally (not anonymous).

Socks v5 does support ICMP (and UDP), so TOR would just ignore that.
