[school-discuss] [IIEP] Finalists (in education) at the Stockholm Challenge

Some interesting education-related initiatives from the Stockholm
Challenge competition, that have emerged as 'finalists'. Not sure how
many are from the world of Free/Libre and Open Source Software, but
some seem to be so...

There are 172 projects from the world of education.

Some which seem interesting:

* Greenstone Digital Library Software. Greenstone is open source
software that allows users or organizations to build digital libraries
of their own text and multimedia information, in a variety of formats,
and present them on the web or on removable media (CD-ROM/DVD)
Category: Education City, country: Hamilton, New Zealand

* Kilinux: Localization of Open Source Software into Kiswahili Language
Category: Education City, country: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

It would be interesting to see how many of these projects are based
on, or influenced by, Free/Libre and Open Source Software. A bit
difficult to gauge from the summary page, but clearly there would be a
few at least. FN (Frederick Noronha, Goa, India
