Rick Watson, one of the leaders of the
Global Text Project, has expressed a need
for a geographic information system (GIS).
In addition, Rick wrote,
we need some volunteers who are
willing to investigate what open source
GISs are available, recommend a product
for us to adopt, install it on a server,
and help with setting up a data entry and
reporting interface. This could make an
excellent class project for someone
teaching in the data management area.
