Did a search for RSS feeds related to Open Source at one point. Don't
know if all the links are still valid, but here's what I dug up:

https://creativecommons.org/weblog/rss
http://www.eff.org/rss/updates.xml
http://www.osalt.com/rss.xml
http://slashdot.org/rss/slashdot.rss
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/open-source/rss

There are some rss search engines out there that might be used to dig up more.

There's also this Open Source site (with source code available) for
reading rss feeds online:
http://newsblur.com/

ZeroInstall uses feeds to tell when a package is updated. Some
related links here:
http://0install.net/injector-feeds.html
http://0install.net/interface-spec.html
http://0install.net/2009/interfaces/pkg2zero.xml

Personally not a big fan of blogging. I prefer reading information in
a reference manual style format to reading information that's
formatted like someone's diary. However, I do make use of RSS feeds
on certain projects to let readers know there's be an addition or
update. Like HTML (which I do by hand in a programming editor), I
also write ATOM RSS in a basic text editor instead of using a tool or
application. I do have a web based script I wrote to help create an
ATOM file for a RSS feed which can automate some of the process:
