Are you a Chicago-based developer interested in open source
software for the non-profit sector? A nonprofit staff person in
Chicago wanting to learn about open source software for your
work? A tech provider wanting it all? Then Penguin Day Chicago
is for you.

Penguin Day Chicago will bring together open source software
(OSS) developers and non-profit technology staff for a day of
learning and conversation. We'll demystify open source for
nonprofits, frankly address the challenges of developing open
source tools for non profits and celebrate strengths and
successes of open source in the nonprofit sector.

Register now at http://chicago.penguinday.org

Co-hosted by Aspiration, NPOTechs, and Teaming for Technology
Chicago, Penguin Day Chicago will feature a packed agenda of
interactive workshops, round tables, speakers, speed geeks in the
spirit of growing a community. Penguin Day will:

     * build new and enhanced relationships between key constituencies
in the open source and nonprofit communities in Chicago;
     * challenge developers to provide flexible and appropriate open
source solutions for nonprofit mission-critical applications;
     * empower non-profit users and support providers to better
communicate their needs and serve as active partners in the development
and maturation of open source technology for nonprofits;
     * serve as a venue for learning and information sharing about
development processes and nonprofit software needs;
     * and result in increased energy and passion to fuel ongoing
collaboration.

Penguin Day will take place right after the NTEN Non-Profit
Technology Conference in Chicago at the United Way of
Metropolitan Chicago.

Can't make it? Don't despair; there will be a Penguin Day near
you:

United Way of New York City.

We hope to see you in Chicago or at one of the other 2005 Penguin
Days!
