GNOME: Check this out

Hi,

The new Linux Gazette has a great article on GNOME that says some things
I didn't know before. Sounds like GNOME will have a VERY powerful panel
(including alpha-transparent widgets!) and a printing system that can
take advantage of newer color inkjets better than PostScript, and it has
an XML library.

Given all this, I think I'm hooked on the idea of tying this to GNOME.
:-)
Here it is: http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue35/icaza.html

Also, regarding Doug's comments, I think it sounds like a good
schedule. We developers should spend the next month or so getting
familiar with XML and perhaps the GNOME libs. More design discussion
would also be good. Coding can begin in January.

I think it's important to have a usable beta of all our main stuff by
May - then we can market it to teachers over the summer.
