In part, I agree, Nick.  However, if I understood  well,  everything
on  SEUL  would  be based on 100% free code.

I think Caldera's ambiguity could well raise the following issue: we
(may)  need  someone  specialized in software licenses, rights, etc.
I'm not specialized in  this  but,  IMO, cooperation with commercial
ventures (such as Caldera) could require a detailed study.

What Caldera is saying is this:

    Come and work for me
    I take your code
    I build up whatever I want (with your code) and
            GPL it
    and
    I sell the rest.
    
Do you believe hackers  cooperating  in  that  venture will have any
_control_ on the development, code & info flow as well as the  final
product ?  I dunno :-)

Anyway, that's only my opinion.
