Checking current connection speed can be problematic for a lot of
reasons. Why not just give the statistic based on common connection
speeds, the way a lot of distribution sites do:

"Size of package:	4396 KB

 Time to download:	70 minutes (14.4)
			35 minutes (28.8)
			 5 minutes (ISDN 2B+D)
			25 seconds (T1)"

Yeah, I'm nitpicking. Your idea is a good one. The more information we
can provide the user, the better, without a doubt.
