Re: Computerbank VIC Procedures & Policies
Although everyone is eager to get systems out to people it
is quite clear that before we can do this we are going to
need the policies & procedures of our Organisation in place.
Surely - and slowly this is happening.
Before any computers can be distributed we will need to: a/
Obtain legal advice and insurances b/ Have a clear training
and support policy C/ Be clear about our purpose d/
implement procedures for approving applicants e/ test
systems f/ be properly incorporated (our constitution is
currently under review at the Office of Fair Trading)
It has been proven that the technical side of installing
systems is possible - several base systems were installed at
the working bee. The finer details can be worked out before
computers are picked up by applicants (account names,
applications required, ISP accounts). We are working on a
form for this procedure.
All applicants must fill in the appropriate paperwork - even
during the pilot. I am currently working on an application
form - as soon as it is complete it will be available for
viewing / comment on the web pages.
It is important that Computerbank Vic (like any
organisation) has policies, procedures and protocols in
place as these provide mechanisms of accountability and
guide a clear purpose.
What is the feeling of other constituting states?
