That's true for many ports, yes. Most parts (like e.g. key mappings)
usually don't make much sense in the main tree, but you often have
recurring changes that many of the port maintainers duplicate in their
trees, and in those cases (mostly basic portability enhancements), pulling
the changes upstream simply makes life easier for future porters (and also
for existing ports that get updated to a newer version).

That'd be nice. I've already got the source but since you know best where
you branched from... Besides, I'm just as lazy as the next guy... ;-)
