What about a pre-sifter unit? << 2 , << 4 , << 8 , << 16 , << 32
<< 48  >> 0, >> 2, >> 16 ,>> 32, >> 48, sign bit (0/-1) Then a
smaller 2'nd stage stage shifter is needed.Ben
