gEDA-bug: [Bug 721929] [NEW] pagemanager is cluttered with paths
Public bug reported:
Currently, the page manager windows shows the whole absolute path for each and every document. When working on a hierarchic design, this path contains no much information. In multi user environments, the absolute path can get pretty long. There are two drawbacks:
1) When working with many files in a hierarchic design, it gets difficult to spot the right file at a glance.
2) It is a waste of screen estate. Since the path starts at the left, the file name tends to go to the far left.
Suggestions:
a) Show file names only by default. Only expand to absolute path if the user checks a button in the dialog.
b) Show the file name on the left, followed by the path in brackets.
c) Only show the file name and present the path in a statusline on mouse-over.
