gEDA-bug: [Bug 698813] Re: de-clutter gschem back-up files.
It is standard behaviour for Unix applications to create backup files
alongside the edited files, with a '~' suffix added. gschem will
continue to work in this way.

Title:
de-clutter gschem back-up files.
Status in GPL Electronic Design Automation tools:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
gschem backup files of the form <name>.sch~ create unnecessary clutter in the user's work directory. The are important, and need to continue to exists is some easy to find location. My suggestion would be to create a hidden subdirectory and place them there, such as:
.gschem-backups/<name>.sch
