Actually, PCB's grouping concept is kind of confusing, IMO.  It's hard
to tell if the above line items correspond to two layers, four layers,
8 layers, or what.

The idea was that a single layer could have a couple of different net
types grouped together, but colored differently for visibility.  Then
you could, say, color the signal tracks on the solder layer color 1,
the VCC tracks on the solder layer color 2, and the GND tracks on the
solder layer color 3.

I wonder if there is a better way to express the concept of different
colors on a single layer?  After all, since we're going to change PCB
to better handle different types of layers, perhaps we can think about
how the group concept can be better expressed?
