You can turn this off. The incantation depends on which shell you  
use. In csh:

setenv SPICE_NO_DATASEG_CHECK

In bash:

export SPICE_NO_DATASEG_CHECK

Issue this before your first ngspice run. Or put it in .cshrc  
or .bashrc to automatically disable this problem for each new shell  
instance.
