  THING = [ PINS, PINS, PINS ]

  Extra grouping on the right means a one-to-many connection; the net
  connecting to thing connects to all pins in the right.  Note that
  thing and pins may be groups, in which case you're parallelling
  gates (like paralleling transistors in an array to increase current
  limits).
