Your kidding right?

The element silk screens should indicate where pin 1 is, but usually not
with
a number. Typically a dot or chamfer in the silk path is used. On
through-hole
parts Pin one is often square while the other are round. On SMD, often pin
one is different from the others (rounded vs squared ends or vice-versa).

Most of the pre-existing elements in the library have orientation
identifiers.
