I have some other strangeness.  From the tutorial, one.sch, two.sch,
and project file.

# gsch2pcb project - seems OK.
# pcb board.pcb - loads all elements stacked in the upper left cornet
  file->save layout - closes popup, but, does NOT write a file!
  select->disperse all elements
  file->quit program - asks if ok to lose all data.
# pcb board.pcb - loads all elements stacked in the upper left cornet
  select->disperse all elements
  file-> save layout as - popup with board.pcb
         click open closes popup, but, does NOT write a file!
  file->quit program - asks if ok to lose all data.
