gEDA-user: About vbpp and vbs status

Hello,
I recently tried to upgrade vbpp and vbs in MacPorts [1], I had issues
as their original homepage [2], by Jimen Ching, doesn't exist anymore.

vbpp has got an update from [3] and its tarball is available but I
couldn't find any source for vbs other than this old gEDA website
mirror [4].
On current gEDA website vbs isn't listed while it is in the site
mirror from '08.

I had issues with C++ classes scope, I patched the first then I
realized something is wrong from the ground, maybe the compiler has
changed a little too much from year 2000.

The actual error I'm having is:

Is vbs part of the gEDA suite nowadays?

Are these two tools reported being working with current gcc versions?
