In the end, we care about all of the input data. There is no way to say reliably: "we won't need item X". And this is the flaw of top-down design from a set of scenarios. It  results in a grab-bag of features without a foundation.

I expect everything to be parsed into a data structure, from which the input could be reconstructed if necessary, but which is also suitable as input to processing functions in the language.
