That's exactly what happened to me in the early days when I attempted to
use the m4. Simple grep is not enough. You have to basically reverse
engineer the sources in the m4 languages. Good luck.

And that's what I did then. I fortunately don't have to handle this
anymore because I already cracked those few footprints that are of
usability for my projects and I copy them from design to design using
copy-paste engineering method. The rest are SMD (the last one I did is
almost 100% SMD :) ) and self-made footprints.

Especially finding out the numeric arguments is funny. Of course the
developers will argue with you that it's actually easy, because they
know the source code by heart ;-)
