I did, twice. The first time I just sent them what pcb had generated and
I received the board with the solder mask inverted.
The second time I explicitly told them how to interpret the solder mask.
On the boards I received they obviously had created a soldermask from
scratch, not used the one in the gerbers generated by pcb.
Apart from the soldermask stuff there were no problems.
