gEDA-user: gschem hangs on a symbol

Hi all.

I loaded a symbol (which I had defined, and used before without problems),
and gschem went to 100% and stayed there. The machine got so loaded I
couldn't even remove the task.

I thought the version of gschem might be too old, so I downloaded the
lates distro (2006/01/24?) compiled all and installed. Same problem - I
load the simple symbol on an empty sheet and get full CPU load...

The symbol isn't even large - just a simple PIC processor... I also
converted the symbol using gsymupdate. I checked the symbol's file, and I
cannot see anything strange. What's more, it appears in the symbol
preview correctly!

There's no crash, so no backtrace... Whan can I do?
