I have some sot223 components that I need to make the tab pad a large exposed copper area to behave as a heatsink(require like 1 square inch of exposed copper). Is there a way to do this PCB? Do you have to make this part of the footprint creation or could you add a copper rectangle to the board and tell PCB to mask the area?
