The only problem with the scanner is if
there are bigger components on the pcb the image gets unsharp
because the pcb doesn't lay flat on the glass.

If your scanner has the option of a document feeder, then
it will have a setting that allows you to focus above
the glass.  If you drive it with XSANE under Linux you
can find that setting in the setup/option section
