I agree with you as well, there is no way to get a clear overview of
current bugs and do any kind of release planning if all you have
access to is a bunch of e-mails.
A couple of suggestions to the original poster:
1. Don't refer to the SF bugtracking as Bugzilla since that is a
different bugtracking system from the Mozilla project
(http://www.mozilla.org/products/). Whatever people think of that
system is irrelevant, what a "34-years old german social scientist
concentrating on human-computer-interaction (HCI) and e-learning"
has to say about it on osnews.com might even be more irrelevant...
2. If you have really large attachments that you think you need to
share with the developers it's probably better to put the file on
an http or ftp server and then post a link in the bugreport. Once
the bug is closed you can remove the attachment or come to an
agreement with the developer when it can be removed during the
debugging process.
3. Try to be constructive, it helps greatly to get the real problem
solved...
