I forgot ... two required input data formats. The first is the
undocumented "spreadsheet" format that is accepted by every spreadsheet
program, by math programs like octave, is easily human readable, and
because of all this it is the format used by gnucap. The second is a
universal binary format that is accepted by signal processing software
and is in common use for storing analog data. Probably the best choice
is the "wav" format.
Other programs that use other formats should be able to use translators
to go to and from these formats, so direct support for any other is
unnecessary.
