Re: gEDA-user: not accept footprint named "ALF300-40" at gsch2pcb.

There need to be some method for sanitizing a - in the input for a name of a foot print.

I have seen this FEATURE hit many times before by different users, DJ provided the _ workaround....

one more thing while I draw is gsch2pcb does not accept "ALF300-40"
footprint that is user-made element. it always make incomplete pcb file like
below

Element(0x00 "" "" "" 220 100 0 100 0x00)
(
    Pin(0 150 50 20 "1" 0x101)
    Pin(300 150 50 20 "2" 0x01)

    ElementLine(0 150 100 150 10)
    ElementLine(200 150 300 150 10)

    ElementLine(100 150 200 100 10)
     ElementLine(200 100 200 200 10)
    ElementLine(200 200 100 150 10)
    ElementLine(100 100 100 200 10)
    Mark(0 150)
)-40(ALF300-40,D?,unknown)

That footprint loads for me.

One thing you may want to change is the silkscreen that goes over the copper. Some fabs may do the right thing and not run the silkscreen over the pads
others may not.
