That was it. I forgot about the ./ 
Now I get a large, black 3D control blob above the toolbox :-)

Threedeeview is cool!
I don't foresee a serious use at my projects, though. After all, 
a PCB is only two and a half dimensions by nature. And I won't do six 
layers anytime soon ...
