   Because it lets me route the 8/8 traces without excessive spaces.  BTW,
   I manually make the spacing 9, but the rules are set at 8.

   Yes, I remember.  But it doesn't help.  I'm ready to send out this
   beast for fab, but those diagonals bug me.  Also am concerned that one
   of those pesky bumps gets past the design rule checker and wind up with
   a short.

   When I get home, I'll create a small pcb sample for people to tryout.
   I'm at work and have limited time/access to the tools - but I did try a
   simple example using 2 SO8, 10 mil grid, 10 mil trace, and ran a
   diagonal trace between them.  Same result.  Depending upon the zoom
   factor, I may or may not see the jagged stuff.  It's in the gerbers
   too, I'm pretty sure.
