I have a modified version of gftp which has a Compare Files option in
the menu. It uses diff to compare the files and shows the differences.
It is compiled on Mandriva 2006 but also works on Mandriva 2007.  I do
not have the souce code but I can send you the binary if you want to
test it.

I had also submitted that code as a patch to the gftp bug website, I
don't have the link on hand though. But you should be able to find it
there and apply it to the code and recompile if needed.
